This website is solely owned and maintained by Steve (Steveo) Hailer of Milwaukee WI.  Steveo is the founder and leader of the no longer active gaming group "Clan Assassin 3D".  Clan Assassin 3D founded in 1996 had over 200 members of at one time and was a competitive Quake Clan for users of the Assassin 3D Controller and Panther XL Controllers only.

In 2000 the Panther XL suffered from lack of support for the trackball in most games of the era, begging the game companies for support was not working.  A community member by the handle "Klamath" found a way to remove he read lights from under the trackball and install the electronics of a Microsoft Optical Mouse into the Panther XL.  This "Mod" as it was called, turned the joystick axis trackball into a simple USB mouse that would work in any game.

In the year 2002, due to poor driver support for the joystick port Panther XL, development began of a USB version of the Panther XL.  By 2004 a Panther DX based version (ver1) of the Panther XL was being produced and sold by Steveo in limited availabilities.  In 2006 a version 2 shipped that was built on custom made USB electronics. In 2008 a version 3 started shipping that again uses custom electronics to be a joystick as well as the ability to be a Keystick were the Panther XL becomes a keyboard that works in any game regardless of it's Joystick support with no special software needed for support !
